Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Artysan L.L.C-FZ (“Artysan”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in the Meydan Free Zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, governing your use of the Paperbag mobile application and any related services (together, the “App”).
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Who may use Paperbag
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that takes place under it.
2. Your account
Paperbag uses passwordless sign-in. You can create an account using Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or an email magic link or one-time code. There is no password to set or remember.
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your email address up to date so you can continue to access your account.
You may delete your account at any time from within the App (Profile → Delete account). Deleting your account removes your recipes and associated data from our systems. This action cannot be undone.
3. What Paperbag does
Paperbag is a personal recipe manager and grocery list builder. You add your own recipes, choose the meals you want to cook, and the App generates a consolidated grocery list.
Paperbag is not a recipe discovery service and does not supply recipes, nutritional advice, dietary guidance, or food safety information. Any decision about what to cook, what to buy, or what is safe for you to eat is yours alone.
4. Your content
You own your content. Recipes, photos, ingredient lists, notes, and anything else you add to the App remain yours. We do not claim ownership of your content.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, back up, and display your content solely for the purpose of operating the App for you — for example, syncing your recipes between your devices. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are responsible for the content you add. You confirm that you have the right to use any recipe, text, or image you upload, and that your content does not infringe anyone else’s rights or break any law.
We do not routinely review user content, but we may remove content or suspend an account if we become aware of a breach of these Terms or of applicable law.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the App for any unlawful purpose
- upload content that is illegal, infringing, or that you do not have the right to use
- attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App, except where this is permitted by law
- interfere with, disrupt, or place unreasonable load on the App or its supporting infrastructure
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App, another user’s account, or our systems
- resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App or any part of it without our written permission
6. Free tier and Paperbag Plus
Paperbag is free to download and use. Free accounts can store up to 6 recipes.
Paperbag Plus is our premium offering. It unlocks unlimited recipes. It is available as:
- a monthly auto-renewing subscription
- an annual auto-renewing subscription
- a lifetime one-time purchase
Auto-renewing subscriptions
Monthly and annual plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
Lifetime purchase
The lifetime option is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that grants Paperbag Plus for the operational lifetime of the App. It is not a perpetual guarantee that the App will remain available. If we discontinue Paperbag, the lifetime entitlement ends with it, and no refund is due beyond what is required by law or by the app store’s own policies.
If your Plus access ends
If a subscription lapses or is cancelled, your account returns to the free tier. Your recipes are not deleted. The 6 oldest recipes by creation date remain accessible; any beyond that are visible but locked until you resubscribe. Nothing is lost.
Payments and refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple or Google, not by us. We never see or store your payment details.
Refunds are handled by the store you purchased through, under Apple’s or Google’s refund policies. We cannot issue refunds directly. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact Apple or Google Play support. Nothing here limits any statutory refund right you may have under UAE law or the law of your own country.
7. Availability, changes, and support
We aim to keep Paperbag available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The App may be unavailable during maintenance, updates, or events outside our control.
We may add, change, or remove features over time. If we make a change that materially reduces functionality you have paid for, we will give you reasonable notice where practical.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time.

8. Third-party services
Paperbag relies on third-party services to operate, including Apple’s App Store, Google Play, Google (sign-in services), Supabase (data storage and authentication), and RevenueCat (purchase management). Your use of the App may also be subject to those providers’ own terms.
We are not responsible for third-party services, but we do choose them carefully and we describe how your data is handled in our Privacy Policy at getpaperbag.app/privacy.
9. Intellectual property
The App itself — including its name, logo, design, interface, and underlying software — is owned by Artysan L.L.C-FZ and is protected by intellectual property law. These Terms grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the App to you.
10. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the App will meet your requirements, that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any defect will be corrected.
Back up what matters to you. While we sync and store your recipes, no system is immune to loss.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Artysan L.L.C-FZ will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the App.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) USD 50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Artysan L.L.C-FZ against any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the App, or your breach of these Terms.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. If a change is material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you — for example, in the App or by email.
Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. The courts of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms, except where the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings there.
15. Platform-specific terms
Apple App Store
These Terms are between you and Artysan L.L.C-FZ only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Google Play
These Terms are between you and Artysan L.L.C-FZ only, not with Google. Google is not responsible for the App or its content. Your use of Google Play is also governed by the Google Play Terms of Service.
16. General
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours, for example as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business.
